MEET Dhara Fitzgerald 16-year-old jazz vocalist from Halifax.  At just 13, Dhara made her debut at the TD Halifax Jazz Festival in 2022 with a soulful performance accompanied by The Holly Arsenault Trio.

Guided by her voice coach Sharada Banman, Dhara has developed her talents into a signature sound that sets her apart. Her unique musical identity draws inspiration from the melodies of the Great American Songbook and legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Etta James, and she finds solace in regularly tuning into CBC Radio Canada's "C'est si bon" with Claude Saucier.

In addition to singing, Dhara is proficient in playing the guitar, piano, and the trumpet, and she actively participates as a member of the Senior Jazz Band at her school.
